What happened yesterday

So, as many of you might know, Apple had its big convention yesterday. SPOILER ALERT: No iPad Mini. Sorry. However, there were a few other nice things announced. I’ll go through them, telling what I think of them.

1- The iPhone 5. This is the biggest announcement.

I think this looks really neat. First thing you notice is how tall it is. Tall enough to add a whole new row for your apps, thank goodness. Also, it’s thinner, and apparently lighter. A few more upgrades, such as:

-better camera

-better processor

-a new model, using aluminum/glass, like the Macbooks

-a bigger, better screen

The next most important thing, in my opinion anyway, is the new iPod Touch.

My reaction on seeing this: “FINALLY.”

We’ve needed colored iPod Touches for ages. The iPod came out (starting out in black and white), and, within a few years, they had colored models. They were a huge success. You’d think Apple would have learned their lesson, but no, they decided to wait until they released the colors. *sigh…* OK rant over. Wait, no. I really dislike these color choices. The white and black look great, but they’re old. The blue is OK, I guess, but not particularly flexible. The pink is good if you’re into that, I guess. The green, on the other hand…ew. Just plain gross. (Sidenote: I do kind of like the Apple Store-exclusive Product Red look, though. Plus it donates to charity.) Here’s the colors Apple SHOULD have used.

THOSE were the best colors I’ve ever seen Apple use.

Anyway, I think the new iPod touch is great, besides its color choices. First off, the design is nice. As you can see, it’s really thin. It’s also lightweight, and taller, like the iPhone 5. Also, there’s this pop-out little thing that you can attach your new safety loop to.

Even more new features:

-better camera, still one step behind iPhone 5.

-better processor, (an A5, same as iPhone 4S. It’ll run faster.)

-better screen

-Siri
